Melissa Siri

Marketing Assistant

melissa.siri@raywhite.com

A love of homes, writing and real estate runs through Mel’s veins, her father owned a real estate agency while she was in her teens and she recalls having many conversations about the market over the family dinner table.

Fast forward a few years and Mel fulfilled her dream of a journalism career, moving from the NSW mid north coast to Sydney and later securing a journalism cadetship at The Sunday Telegraph, followed by a Publicist role in pay television, during its infancy in the country.

Years later Mel had a few signature writing roles under her belt, she’s been a newspaper and magazine editor, edited and fact checked books, written house stories on stunning properties and she later became a Licensed Real Estate Agent in NSW, following in her Dad’s footsteps.

Aside from raising two gorgeous girls, Mel has had plenty of hands-on experience with properties. She helped design one home, has been a landlord, a tenant, lived in suburbia and also on acreage – she’s no stranger to the orbital sander, mixing concrete or laying turf.

Real estate script writing, marketing and social media form the backbone of Mel’s role at Ray White Gawler | Willaston, a position she feels is the culmination of her best work experiences and passion for digital media.

Having moved to South Australia with her husband Pete at the end of 2020, the couple spent the bulk of last year adding infrastructure and gardens at their Freeling property, a 1908 stone church which had previously been converted and renovated.

Supervising the garden work have been the family’s two Border Collies and they are regulars down near the F.A.R.M Centre and sports fields where the dogs love to run. Another favourite spot at Freeling is Em’s Cookie Jar Café (their turmeric almond lattes are great), along with Rockford Winery. Mel also recommends the Friday night woodfired pizza at Greenock’s, El Estanco.
